I haven't compared the two, but I have built different eq's with both types, and I like them both. The HFT's may need to be shielded more than the BSL's (I got more interference with the HFT's, but that could possibly be due to other variables... can't say for sure).

Both sound great, the BSL's are also simpler to use since its weight is supported fully by the axial leads. With the HFT's you have to support the torroid core with a tiewrap or such or they'll flop around.

I think Matthias made a blind test here and Wilco won of all those inductors.

I have some myself in the NYD passive EQ (only filters ready at this point), they do sound good.
