Hi, I'm brand new to the board, fairly new to electronics, and working on my first project.

http://www.ionrecords.com/tapeop/ampinterface.jpg

I just ordered the transformer from Edcor http://www.edcorusa.com/transformers/wsm/wsm10k-150.htm , but I have a few n00b questions about the schematic:

-The two pots have values of 1KA and 50KB. What do the A and the B mean in the values?

-In the picture of the component, it looks like there are 10 terminals on the transformer. Am I going to be using the 1st and 5th on the 10k side, and the 7th and 9th on the 150 side?

Thanks in advance, this board is great.

-Kyle

Hi Kyle. "A" stands for log/audio taper, "B" for linear taper. I think the picture of the Ecdcor is generic. I have a WSM600-600 here with only 6 terminals. +,-, and CT are clearly labled for primary and secondary.

This link has shown up here before, but it's so great:
