Thanks, Keith. Are there equivalents for the EF804s, E80CC and E81L tubes? Some of the ones I have seem a bit weak.

I wired the AC line input directly to the switch and fuse holder to keep the line voltage away from all the outputs and eliminate a rather large loop in the wiring. Since I don't have the mating 8-pin connectors, I am reconfiguring as convenient.

I also removed the big coaxial connectors and connected the transducer input ports to the same 8-pin connector that has the audio line input to the plate. I will be using a buffer amp at each bimorph pickup (a la Martinsound upgrade), and this buffer will drive a twisted shielded pair at about -20 dBu.

Sorry for some reason the link wasn`t entered correctly. If you paste the whole of the line that is the link into your browser it should work.

To answer the question re EMT140 plate.

The plate is high quality cold drawn steel, approx 3 x 6 feet and 1/64 inch in thickness.

I have an EMT140 stereo valve, but some years ago I did make my own plate and used stainless steel which was brighter in sound but had a tendency to be a bit "pingy".

Rob-

If you post, and quickly see a screw-up, you can hit the EDIT button top-right of your message and try again... it may be neater than posting again.

As for your URL: spaces in file-names are problematic. Many-but-not-all HTTP parsers will replace spaces with %20 notation, the "right" way to handle spaces in URLs (which can't legally have a literal space character).

In this case you have also discovered that this board's embedded URL parser just quits on the first space. Whether the URL is naked or enclosed in {url} tags. If you don't wish to (or can't) modify the filename on the server, the work-around is to do the %20 encoding yourself, and embed that in {url} tags like this.

Code:
...like [b][url=http://www.robflinn.eurobell.co.uk/tape%20Op%20Building%20Your%20Own%20Plate%20Reverb.doc]this[/url].

Of course that won't work now that you have withdrawn the file for good reason, but you do get the "correct error": The requested URL /tape Op Building Your Own Plate Reverb.doc was not found on this server, showing the space-parsing worked.
