anyone thought about modding these DIY calrecs to give you variable Q instead of the two switchable options available as standard.

it would appear that modding the switch with a pot would give this though im not quite following how this part of the circuit is working from the schematics etc.

it would make this much more flexible and would make it a viable option for my next project allowing me to abandon my GM eL 8200 EQ plan before it even gets going lol
 
Hi neil,

We discussed this before, try a search. It's not easy, as you'd need to adjust both filter gain AND "Q" at the same time. The two Q's given in the circuit will cover 99% of your real-world needs.

point taken ref the calrec. i guess that if i need variable Q, looking at a different project such as a sontec type may be better than cobbling together a solution and ruining an already good eq.
