VU Meter Scales

Ok, I know that a few people have made custom scales for they're VU meters. What type of material are you guys using? What has given you the best results?

I would like to use something transparent and some what sturdy.

Thanks for the idea gyraf but I was hoping for something transparent because I have a backlight.

Go to Staples, or any other office supply warehousey-thing, and buy transparencies that you can print on.

Solves the backlight problem :thumb:

As far as backlighting a meter with a custom scale.... I use light wieght paper (20lb and under) for it. The paper act as a diffuser and it makes a glow instead of an obnoxious light. Just my 0.02

How do you stabilize the tracing paper? Do you have any clear plasic in front or behind? If so would you use any specific type of glue to keep everything together?
