W  W wonderful pics!

Those look fairly simple to build. Were there any parts that were
hard to find? Did you have any difficulty with the project or any information you could share that would be helpful for others
who are wanting to build a model of this very similar to yours?

Thank you for sharing this nice box!

So this is the polar design. Really good, i like it :thumb: And i am really envious because of those round knobs for the switches :green:

How did you do the labeling ? Still Seno rubber letters ? If so where did you get those EQ-specific signs ?

Great work !

Flo

@viitalahde: white look is nice, but you have to be areful when putting onthe varnish... on white background you can see every particle of dust...

@zee1usa: thank you... yes it's pretty simple to build... the only parts that are hard to get are the dual neg log pots and maybe the alps switches... if you have some good pcbs like the ones from gustav it'll be not a difficult project...

@flo: I got the round caps for the wsitches from farnell, they were done by another manufacturer, but with a bit of fast glue they fit very well..

lableing (seno letters) was a hard job to make it "good looking"

the eq shelf signs consists of thee - and one ) or ( :green:

finy whities...

how do they sound ?

what did it cost ? Dp you have a parts list to share ?

it sounds really good ... but I only did some short tests yet...
it's a very good channel eq, but nothing for mastering purposes
I'll post a mp3 the next days...

costs: I don't know exactly, but I guess something around 200 ? for the parts of each unit

I know this is an old topic, but I'm curious what you think of it now that you've had it for a while? If anyone has any impressions about this project, or has used one of these extensively, I'd love to hear your opinion!!

Thanks,

Jay

I also really like this EQ. It does some nice things for acoustic instruments and is very simple to make. A big thanks to Gyraf for sharing this with the rest of us!

Steve

Really nice design! These boxes look high tech. Imagine a Rack with G9, 2xCalrec, G9, 2xCalrec, G9, 2xCalrec, G9, ..... a Zebra(same word in english?) in your Studio

HEY NICE!

I use that radio mic connector also for remote PSU, very good ones right?

Do you like the sound of it? It´s a good thing to know from everybody who build it...

:sam:
Fabio

@ Baumann: I think it's a very good channel eq, but I wouldn't use it for mastering...

@ robomatique: front panel is drilled by myself and the lableing is done with rubber letters... I measured the distandes between the pots myself and it wasn't really 100%, but 99,5 ;) it also depends on what type of knobs you are using... look at franks page, he has some panel files for downloading... http://www.nrgrecording.de/html/schaeffer.html

Great looking EQ, I like the Sifam knobs, a la my GSSL http://www.459audio.com/SSLface.jpg

Where did you get the Chassis? I have been trying to find a good 1ru chassis for a while. I have no problem finding shallow 2ru and 3ru boxes like for LA2As and what not, but for PCB projects where you need it to be thin and deep I'm stuck. (my SSL chassis was very DIY) if you know what I mean. Yours looks pro out of the rack. :guinness: :guinness: :guinness: :guinness: :guinness:

Well, is there a diy project that cuts it for mastering?

And is their a parts list, did you attempt to swap things out for
"sound"?

The soundcraft's kind of middle of the road, I'm just hoping
with good components it sounds as good as say a speck or a api.
