Does anyone remember who it was that was doing the 251 clone. The first pics he posted were how he formed the grill over a rolling pin? I thought I bookmarked his pics page but now I can't find it.

Weren't there some other people that had pics of their G7's and similar DIY mics? I already know about the links on Gyraf and Omnipressor sites.

Just trying to get some ideas about body/grill design.

Hi guys,

you all seem pretty knowledgeable in the audio DIY world. I was annoyed by the price of the tube microphones and wanted to get some info on how to do build one myself. Any idea roughly how much it would cost in components to build that ELAM 251 clone?

The Klaus guy on the other forum seem to be very serious. He would need to relax a little bit, life ain't so bad with people interested in microphones...
