One thing to be carefull with electro-chemical etch.  If you're doing a panel that has clear anodize, it may not work.  You need to be on bare metal for it to do it's thing.

Here's a link to another board where someone discusses the results he's getting using electrochemical etch of steel.  Might be useful to some:

They also talk about the EOM chemicals being dilute HCL.

thanks for the link fum. this is good information and has rekindled my hope for this method. it's funny, i guess there is a forum for just about anything. do we have a front panel graphics META?
