Hi,

Just got a broken Binson Echorec in. The owner bought it from a guy that never got it working.
After a check I'm not sure I want to start on this one. :?

Anyone have a schematic, inside pictures or anything else that could be useful?

There is a loud hum when I connect it. If I crank it up I can hear some weak echos and a lot of noise.

Any help would be apreciated.

Thanks

Richard

I'm really not sure. It's a tube unit. 4 knobs. Echorec...

....I'll take a picture.

Search the forum; someone posted a plan this month.

You don't need to understand it. Start re-capping. Start in the power supply: the big caps have gone sour and are not making clean DC. Replacement does not have to be exact: similar or greater uFd and voltage. That may be a 90% cure. Random noise may be leaky grid caps; again, just use something similar.
