I've got two Biamp Advantage One rack mixers. Each one has 8 preamps, with a separate 48V phantom power supply. Looks like they were designed for conferences, etc, but I'm wondering if the preamps in these are worth anything for recording. I did use one of the mixers on drums and got suprisingly nice results, although it didn't seem like I had a lot of headroom.

A simple mod I'm going to do is to switch the tweaker trim pot with the main level pot, since I only need to adjust trim, not really using the mixer section.
Anyone have any experiences with these?

Question asked and answered in two sentences.

What other people think of it doesn't matter. If you like it, use it.
