Is there someone who knows a good source for brass wire mesh for microphones in Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, France ... ?

I tried to make it with stainless steel (inox) but soldering didn't work ? Anyone experience with that ?

Thanks

I use brass mesh ordered from Mcmaster-Carr but that's mostly good for US and Canada. If you use strong flux it seems to solder ok. I actually 'tin' the edges first using a soldering iron but I might try an electrochemical process next time. Once there's tin on the brass, it solders pretty easily. You need a lot of heat though.

I bought it from company in Slovenia but they sell only one square meter or more. Maybe send them email and ask for the price as they don't have it online.

it is written in slovenian language so use google translate

I seem to recall a recent post about an European web/retailer - try forum search and/or look under mics section...?

Another option is disassembling air/oil filters for automotive engines.
