This is an original Model One. It's so early that it came in a nylon Case Logic cassette case with a carved piece of foam inside.

Enjoy.

That looks like a "Primo" microphone capsule I bought like seven years ago to build the Glass Audio version of David Royer's cathode follower mic.

I can't find this company anymore on Google anyone know if they're still around?

Apparently I'm retarded.

check out the special mics

CM-23B5 (the first capsule specified in the "Country Boy's Capacitor something or other article by D. Royer)

EM-21 (look familiar)
or
EM-23 (look familiar)
also check out the resemblance for those of you owning a C-1000
EM-68

Nice Pics Miko, thanks. I really like the way they put the mic together mechanically. Very simple, gives good ideas for a DIY body.

I don't like how they sound. What use does that microphone have? The capsule is maybe what I don't like.

IIRC from what I have read over the years 1/2 plate out to a CF to a 4:1 output.

Gus, I don't like this mic on much, either. But I have to say, on a cranked high gain guitar amp through a 1960 bottom, this is one of the greats. They also work as overheads in a small, dead room. But that's about it. The pics are so people can get better ideas for building their own mics.

Seth, the logo is upside down because it was intended to be hung grill end down, so that the tube heat disappates away from the capsule. Not that the heat will have much of an effect on a nickel-sized capsule.

Was the capsule in this mic not based on one of the Sony condensers?

I've not heard one myself, but I remember someone saying that the earlier models were much, much better. Supposedly very good on some female vox.

Thanks for the pictures yes they might help others to build a nice body. I do like how the capsule is shock mounted the New AKG 414 and older solid tube are kind of like that.

I think the model 2 had the capsule from DJ.
