Give it some time.
Listen over and over again.

I put on a CD to compare it with the piece of vinyl that I had.

First thing I notice is the CD blows the vinyl away. I can hear everything, all the individual instruments. The high end is extended. The bottom is tighter.
So I listen for hours, but then I put the vinyl on for hours and start to notice something.
Even though I lose freq range, have snap crackle and pop. me ears want to listen all day, where as the CD makes my ears tired.

So when you make a radical change to something, give it more than 5 minutes.

anyone tried one of these TAB-Funkenwerk trannys for the SM57:

supposed to make it sound like an SM7...wonder who is making this...

I have a bunch of 57's and an SM7 they are TOTALLY different animals! Don't believe the hype. Ever try a 57 on VO? I haven't and never will! LOL

Unless it is the President then I guess a 57 is plenty good.
