Guitar pedals & console inserts?

What is the best way to do this?

Should I use transformers & @ what ratio's in/out?

- OR -

Can it be done chaper with resistors :?

If this has been discussed before I'm sorry... if so, please post links or info:thumb:

Thanks,
Kevin

Little Labs makes something called the PCP that does what you're talking about.

I've been wondering if a DIY project could be made out of this idea for a while. It would interesting to use all of your stomp boxes as nasty effects while mixing.

Buy one of these Peavey IA 8410 Eight Channel Interface Amplifier, I did.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7360440921

They have two seperate signal paths going on in each channel utilizing one TL072 and 5532. With one electrolytic cap and some resistors. Change out the TL072. I did with some OPA134's and some OPA604's or was it Excaliburs. Big difference in sound. Bass was more defined. Sound opened up.

Has XLR, RCA and 1/4"

The only thing that sucks is the gain is set through the case by flathead.

It's on my list to do..

Some circuits like the FF type can cause some problems.

With the circuit of the FF part of the gain stucture is the source Z going into the input summing node of the circuit.

FWIW the FF has two parts to the gain the first part is the input transistors gain in parrallel with the feedback R 47k to 100K on most / the input Z(guitar or bass plugged into it) That X the gain of the 2nd stage.

Now if the Source Z is to low the first stage gain gets to be to high thats why some FF after the Wha mods are simple things like a 10K or so resistor in series with the output of the wha. Still not the same as a guitar or bass with the inductance cable cap etc...... working as a type of EQ with the feedback network.

FWIW setting up the first gain part of a FF is what the touch control from the guitar is all about you might want different setting(1st transistor and/or feedback R and bias adjustments)
