I might be working on one in a few weeks, wonderin` what i'd be getting into. Anybody remember what the SSM chip in the micpre was that is discontinued? That would be quite helpful to know!

Its basicly the same as a Media 51

SSM Mic amp chip that was discontinued?
If memory serves, that'd be the SSM2017
pin for pin with the INA217.... or, if you want lower noise, INA163 - although the gain resistor may be different.

SSM2019 is it's replacement, I believe.

SSM2016 - in the mic pre.
No direct plug in replacement available. You must use an adapter board with a SSM2019 or THAT1512 since the SSM2016 is no longer made.
