very interesting.

i suppose AKG need to adjust perfectly
the plastik and metal part of the backplate....

Seems to be a very precision work, in order to be
sure that the gap is equal to the plastik ring thickness.

thanks !

I took one of those completely apart a couple of years ago.

Made these drawings from what I found:

Spacers are not in the drawing.

I would guess they were shims to adjust the CAPACITANCE between
the back plate and the diaphragm. This can also equate to distance too.
But the target capacitance is what they are after. How thick are the plastic rings and how many were there??

Great drawing BTW!

difficult to say with human eyes :?

thin for sure...

there's one in one side, and two on the other
but maybe it's like mica and i divided it when bring it.

Good 3D view !!
seems to be a very complex capsule...

It would have been great if you could have measured the capacitance
before taking it apart. All the ones I've measured are 40 - 55pF.
But I've never measured the CK12.

i have another one with an "acceptable" tension

i can measure it today.

PS : i have build an ElaM251e Clone
and want to put this rediaphragmed CK-12
on it

I would love to try an K87... (dual backplate)

Anybody know if i need some adjustements on the circuit
or if the K87 capacitance, and tuning of K87 are "compatible"
with the ElaM251 circuitry.

thanks
