As many of you know, i have had loads of problems with one of my preamp builds. It has become my personal nemesis, and i am 100% determined to defeat this "beast"...lol.
I am slowly getting closer to a working build.
I still have one problem, that has me stumped. So i was hoping that someone could have an idea where to start looking.
The only problem left with my api312/neve1272 combo is:
As soon as i enable the relay for the pad on the api312s i get a loud hum that seems to be related to toroid radiation. But only with dynamic mics.
This also happens on the other relays, but not as much as with the pad.
A couple of weeks ago my +5v regulator decided to crap out, and the 5v relays got about +29v for a couple of seconds.
They still switch between the two states, but could they have been damaged otherwise somehow?
