So I've seen these beads hanging on the input to mic pres in some pro gear. I'm assuming they have something to do with blocking radio interference. How do they work?

I have a Neve clone I'm working on. At high gain, I can sorta hear some Mexican radio station. Would RF beads help block out the radio??

In layman's terms, putting a ferrite bead on a conductor increases its impedance at radio frequencies, particularly if the conductor loops through the bead more than once. But it's pretty much "invisible" at audio frequencies. For more info, search on the terms "ferrite bead", "permeability", "RF choke", etc.

Yes , you put a turn or two thru a bead and you have a high freq choke.

A couple of 10 pf caps can be used to really filter out that wall of voodoo stuff!
