Just pulled apart this old grundig mic (the type that used to come with their domestic tape recorders)
(don't worry, this was a scummy specimen, I have better ones!) and here is what I found :

Anyway I was not expecting this. Does anyone know anything
about these mics - polarisation voltage, pattern, output, response
etc.

Try googling for a schematic of the taperecorder it came with - it's a Grundig TK-something.

It's a capsule-only, no integral electronics, so it needs a low-capacitance coax cable to connect to polarisation/preamp.

I've seen several of these mics, but never one in working condition.
