Hi.
I need some advise, please.

I'm rebuilding one mixer and planning on putting in ssl4000 parts, but right now I need to decide between 18V and 15V power supply. I have nice schemo for strong regulated 5A/+-15V power supply ( http://sound.westhost.com/project30c.htm ), but SSL uses 18V.

So I need to do one of the following. Change PS to 18V, or use 15V for SSL boards. What would you suggest?

SSL channels and eqs are all 5534, so both 15V and 18V would be fine probably. But summing buss from ssl4000 (schemo from gyraf page) seems a bit more complicated, and possibly needs 18V. Is it so? What change would be needed to drive it with 15V? http://84.255.203.119/ssl_82e26.gif

Or would it be easier to just change this power supply (http://sound.westhost.com/project30c.htm), to give +-18V? Shall I just replace 7815/7915 with 7818/7918 and all will be fine? My toroid transformer is 2x19V/6A. That should be fine for 18V, is it?

Any other suggestion for power supply schematics that gives out +-18V at some 3A, or even better 5A.

Somehow I feel, that adjusting power supply to +-18V would make more sense. What would you suggest?

thnx

Are you using 79** regulators?

What sort of transformer are you using?

You could hopefully just swap you 15V regs for 18V models.
