the DIY Jedi speaks

you can't tell me that's not cool !!
and we all know that the internals are not that difficult to get right.
even with the confusion over some of the 2180 to 2181 mods and adjustments etc ...
and the added side chain people talked about months ago.

a beginners project with the finish of a DIY Jedi.
:thumb:

my DIY is good ... but Steff is a master

we're not worthy

Cool!

I take it you have lots of rackspace to spare in your studio...

It does raise the debate of how much looks influences sound; suppose you had lent out this unit (without the SSL markings) to various studios for evaluation...how many would think that it didn't sound good because it didn't have the valve sound they were expecting, and how many would say it is just soooo phat!!!

Good looking unit!
Imagine what Steffen could have done if he had money.

:green:
if I had too much money, I´d have been top bidder on this auction:

http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=3740271583&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT

and doing pcb and panel graphics design right now..... :green:

but cant efford 30K ot more partscost, plus i dont have 1 year free time to do such project

someday this will happen....someday.....

Steffen should start his own company, REALLY!

some big companies can take lessons from what he comes up with...

Great work dude!!! :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:
Oh, talkin' about vari-moo's..

don´t let the gyraf fool you! I´m sure there is an ssl pcb hidden under
the dummy tubes :green: :green: :green:

btw...nice idea with the 90 degree turned meter...should try that with a nice custom scale...fortunately I have a small one of the right type here :)
