Hey guys,

Im looking for a low wattage power amp for guitar, perhaps something running off a single EL34 or 6L6. Has anyone got such a schematic?

Cheers! :sam:

You've seen this, right?

Also, here's a thread I started 9 months ago, and am just now getting back to it. I think blew the EZ81 and am ordering a Weber coppercap replacement as I write this. This will also lessen the heater current so that I can try more/different tubes, etc. Keep an eye on that thread if you are intrested - I'll post all my findings there. I'll get the schematic bacK up too, but of course, it'll be my un-copyrighted version.

There is CJs grid leak bias amp. I made it last night out of boredom. Good sounding amp, quick simple build.

Hey Flatpicker!

Yeah I've been cruising through AX84 for a while but there isn't any dedicated power amp projects and the likes.

I'll keep an eye on that thread :thumb:

Why not just use the power section of a single-ended guitar amp with one common cathode stage in front of that? Sort of like a Fender Champ with only the 2nd half of the 12AX7.

I'd love to do something like that, but circuit operation isn't my strong point. I'd just like buildin' shit :green:

Is it as simple as lopping off the first gain stage? Take this schem for a blackface champ, just remove the input section and tone stack then send the input straight into the volume pot?

Well, I aint no tube-amp guru, but I certainly don?t see why it wouldn?t work. Since you want a 6L6/EL34 amp, I would just build this http://annex.ax84.com/media/ax84_m275.jpg and then connect your line input to the top of the volume pot. You may want to couple it via a resistor but I'm not sure if it?s needed or what value it would be. (Anyone else want to jump in here?) Anyway, no need in throwing away the first stage since all the rest of it is there, so now you have a guitar amp and a power amp. Cool?

Meh, I've got an Egnater M4... all the amp I'll ever need :green:

Yeah I was thinking a 10k resistor on the input maybe? Looking through some of the schem's sismofyt listed they do a variety of things on the input. Some have resistors, some have coupling caps and some have just go straight into one of the legs of the pot.
