At some point I'm wishing to put together a few of the G1176 and the GSSL units using the boards that are available from Gustav. I notice that most people seem to rack these up in 1u or 2u units. I am simply wanting to mount them sideways in a vero/schroff type rack. I reckon I could get 10 or so units of this size(eurocard) in 3u space. Has anyone any thoughts on heat issues with these boards being so close together?

thanks!!
Dave

Heat would be the smallest of your problems if you do this. Neither G1176 nor GSSL heats much - it's in the 4-5W area per unit max - if used with correct power transformers.

Proper grounding and front panel layout will be much more problematic.

Even though the projects are on 10x16cm Eurocards (for pcb material availability), you will not be able to mount the pcb's in standard euro-rack, as the pcb real-estate usage is max'ed out beyond room for guide rails.
