They both take after the 4000 series...

was wondering with so many GSSL's about here, some one must have A/B'ed these two things.

What are you thoughts....very curious...

On Gearslutz someone posted .wav files of URS and Waves versions of this compressor as well as an original ssl and with the original track I recorded my GSSL.

To me compared to the original the GSSL was similar and quite a good compressor in it's own right. Much more desirable than both plugg's .

When it comes to plug inns for me nothing comes close to the Universal Audio UAD's.I have tried all TDM plug's to.

"muich more desirable" than the compressor plug huh? Thats interesting.

Any more views round? Thanks rrs

forget the waves ssl plugins.

the eq sounds like any other digital eq plugin, nothing special, the lows sucks..imho...only a nice gui.
the comp has a bit of the ssl characterisitc, but it sounds strange and not as nice as you would expect that from an analog comp.

the ursplugins are much better, heard them at a friends studio,
the 1970 comp sounds very analog to my ears...
