I grew so tired of switching cables around in the back of gear on my old setup that Im determined to get a patchbay set up while I set up from scratch now . How does this one look to you techheads ?

to expensive

there are switchcraft solder bays out ther for under $200

I have the punch tool for ADC bays... I think it was like $100 for the punch tool...

By solder bays you mean "open" on the back ?
(Hope you know what I mean)

Thanks !
the thing that attracts me to the one i pasted is the easy, no plug, connection on the back+the bantams.

What the hell is this http://i3.ebayimg.com/03/i/02/50/59/ce_1.JPG
Probably not so good that I dont know, but erm I dont.

those are elco connectors...

you would crimp elco pins onto your wires which clips into the connetor...

in all honesty the solder bays are much more durrable and dont really take any longer than the punchdown...

the fact is you will still have to strip the cables down and heat shrink the the shields wether you solder or punch...

use the money you save on the punch tool and the extra $300 for the bay to get a nice solder station or something...

that switchcraft I posted is the sweetest of them all.... it looks brand new... for $250 you cant beat it

pretty decent prices here too

stay away from the punchdown :) do it righ... just solder em up

Ok. Thanks a lot !
Ill see if I can get my hands on it then. Ill post up in a weeks time asking how to solder up the damn thing

gustav,

just bought an ADC patchbay off of ebay a few weeks ago for 78$USD with 15 cables too! I wired mine kinda different than normal though.

Hi call purple audio. Andrew has a whole patchbay from a Trident A range, some of the bays terminate to elcos. I think hes asking $75. If thats too much, make him an offer.
Best Regards,
Peter
