Is it OK to ground through PCB Mounting Screw?

It seems like it would be convenient to create pads for mounting screws and have ground traces connect to one. As long as there is good continuity between the chassis, screw, standoff, and the pad, anyone see a problem with doing this?

You wouldn´t be using the best point in the chassis for grounding. Also, all other grounds should be connected to the same screw.
 
I have worked on plenty of old synthesisers that do this, but it can be a bitch to service if the tech doesn't realize that it has been grounded this way. Not really the best wat to go I think.
 
I had a rane headphone amp that used this method. It worked fine until one day the amp started humming like crazy. It took me a while to find out that the ground screw had gotten loose.
