Hi.

Was browsing through the Farnell catalog and saw that they now stock a new Panasonic audio capacitor, the ECA series.
Says it has a special electrolyte and a special vibration control outer sleeve.
One downside is that its only rated for 85 degrees.

Has anyone tried this cap??
Sounds interesting!!

Regards,
Dennis

That might be true, but these are actually sold as "audio" caps.
Especially made for audio circuits.

Will have to order some and drop into my 528 API pres.
Have done most of the channels in my API desk with Panasonic FC´s so i could do a comparison.
Have one channel with BC caps as well, like the old Phillips axial cap.
I've redd somewhere that 85deg caps are better "audio" caps?
That's certainly not been my experience... I'm sure that some of the better 85deg caps sound better than some of the crappier 105deg ones (and these things are always circuit dependent, too) but I don't think temperature rating is what makes or breaks a cap!

Peace,
Al.

Only when Malkjos is soldering with his lighter.
