looking for an xlr cable tester for a live enviroment, i dont need alot of options (whats hot on what pin, ect). just more of like a tone generator, and a xlr with a led that lights on signal.

something like this:

http://www.audiocontrolindustrial.com/product.asp?Product_Id=19945&d_id=5655&l1=5655&l2=#

i could have sworn ive seen a DIY project for something like this but cant locate anything now.

main thing is that i want something really small, and not a lot of options.

anyone got an idea? if its more work, i'll just go out and buy the 50$ one.

thanks for any help.

yeh. i saw the one your talking about. except ive got alot of snakes that are about 30m long and dont have both ends to plug into the box at the same location.
so i would prefer to have a 2pc unit so i could do both loose and static cables.

could always go buy 2 beh ringers but then thats about 100$.

Phantom powered mic - XLR cable unter test - small mixer - headphones. Bend the cable near the connectors and everywhere. This is the best tester, IMHO. Anyway, that B-ringer tester is cheap and good. But tester don't show you everything about the cable.
