Glad to be of assistance Old Bean :thumb:

The chokes I got (DRAKE Transformers LTD) 741-293
after speaking to drake, they reckon it was a 2mH @1KHz

I measured it earlier, with a atlas tester, they read about 7.4 @15KHz
does that sound about right ?

[quote author="AnalogPackrat"]That's a switching jack. Plug anything into the normal input and the hi gain stage is cut out of the audio path.

Thanks! Haven't seen it drawn that way before.

I picked up an old 6 by 9 speak and messed up cab from Andy's garage, plugged it into the 12SJ7/KT66 and it sounds a little better than the Kendrick black frame ten inch.

Go figure. This cabinet is a POS!

I remember an ol 12 inch press board cab I used to use, thing was so loose you could bend the cabinet about ten degrees in each direction. Sounded pretty good, Altec 417C in a small cab, look out!

Ok, here are some top secret "Know How" from my experience.

If the cab resonate on 500 Hz it sounds good, so called 1'St Singing Formant.

If the speaker resonates on 80-90 Hz it is good as well, it means bass strings will sound "full body".
