Has anyone ever DIY'd an A/D or D/A converter? I noticed the website below has a kit you can buy and put together yourself. Has anyone built one from ground up without a kit?

I need also to do a DA converter for 8 channel from my digi 192 I/O.
i've got 8 channels AES/EBU that i cannot use.
Where i can find 8 DA converters, in kit?

P.S -- get ready for teh PCM4204 - 4 channel 118dB AD converter... the EVM will have 8 channels onboard :)

Kevin Carter has a new D/A kit. Check it out:

Once I made a DA converter from Norman Tracey kit--it was a killer.
Never seen AD kits--probably evaluation boards would be the best bet--try to search Analog Devices, Burr&Brown, and Cirrus Logic sites.
