I'm looking for some replacements for some obsolete transistors... these were suggested by Mouser, but I wanna be sure that these are direct and proper replacements.
thanks!

Looking at the data sheets of both BFY51 and 2N1711 the first thing I see is that they have different pin out's. Some creative pin bending will make them work but to be sure they're the right replacement you'll need to compare both data sheets more carefully.
Also, I don't know wich specs are critical for the circuit they're going to be used in....but you can order some and see if they work. Make sure you got the pins right though.

These are going into a Telefunken V672 that I'm racking as a mic pre.
I think that the BFY51 and the 2n1711 DO have the same pin outs.. they just labeled them differently

Or am I reading it wrong?

One of my 672's is rebuilt using all NTE replacements . It has more gain than my stock units. Still sounds very good. I'm not sure how they would sound at similar gain output but I like both amps.

Thanks! This is good to know. I have 10 channels racked by Oliver, so I'll pop some replacements in and see what happens.
