tube microphone transformer

Anyone use the cm 2461NiCo in a microphone build?

The reason I ask is spent some time tuning a new tube microphone build. I used the 2461 for the first time and I am not sure if I like it( I will try some more tuning and changing capsules). It does not sound bad but it is not what I expected. I have other microphones with a very similar circuit, capsule, grill, body with different transformers.

I made sure the new build has room for different transformers to be tried.

The tube circuit I used should have enought output level to the transformer

Now before I post what I hear I was wondering if anyone else compared transformers to a 2461 in builds having similar or the same circuits.

Yes I know about different loading of the tube etc but I am hearing something that should not have anything to do with that. I am using lower rp tubes.

I've scoured several mic build forums and never seen it used. Only the 2480 and 96322.

It's one of their most expensive products. I am trying one in a G7 that I am waiting on parts for.

I just ordered one to try in the bayonet capsule/bottle that I recently built. I have a 2480 in there right now which sounds very good. I am not expecting a great change. Should be here today. Stay tuned . . .
