Cool, thanks for the answers. :thumb:
So i guess when the pcb sale takes place we should look into a iron/inductor groupbuy from carnhill.

Ask em for the "good" stuff.

Anybody use any of the Joel stuff yet?

C'mon, a 65,000 dollar order and not one amp yet?
We are waiting, people!
What's the hold up?

so nobody has re-duplicated the 5 pcbs?
no gerber / eagle files available?

a search returned no results on 4 of the 5
b205 (Shelving card) [wtf???]
ba182c
ba211 (Presence Card) [wtf???]
ba284

and obviously the fifth was once offered by 'fabio' at one point in time
ba283av (line amp)

besides (Linear's) version there is nothing im finding on a 'retro clone' of the 1073

One thing you might consider is searching through the many pultec threads on this board. What you could do is build the passive section of the EQ and stick an appropriate output transformer on there which will allow you to use your N72's for make up gain. I know this has been discussed in the past here. This would be considerably easier than trying to do the same thing with a 1073 style EQ and the circuit is simple enough that you could easily build it point to point. There is absolutely no reason to require a PCB to make a pultec EQ even if it is your first project, you'll be able to wire the eq section point to point really easily.

[quote author="soundguy"]so far as the sound of neve EQ's go, Ive personally felt for quite a long time now that the raving that goes on over neve EQ's is really raving over the amplifier stages driving the transformers in which ever EQ you happen to like, the EQ in and of itself isnt the most magical thing in the world. Very cool, sure, but the hype is sorta misplaced IMO. I think you could feed just about any EQ circuit into a 283AV style circuit and come away with a very "neve ish" sounding EQ so long as you use the appropriate output transfomormers.

Would it be hard to add the precence switch and the extra filter (can't remember if it was low or hi pass) that was in the 1084?

just because there is a meta thread, it doesn't make the 'said' thread gospel.

a bunch of organized "un-organized" information.
scattered amongst many various links. [hopefully which are still active]
which may or may not answer the questions you are looking for.

just because there is a meta thread for said "topics", it doesn't mean the answer to an un-asked question is automatically there.

sometimes if you don't have certain pre-req. knowledge of said topics in the meta, your reading VALUABLE information, that is utterly useless.

and maybe some tend to forget not everyone is of your "caliber", when it comes to DIY.

anyways most of my answers have been answered already.

as well as being pointed in the right direction from Geoff Tanner.

This Thread is more or less going to be a log of my Adventures in NEVEr Land

Just waiting for the rest of those ELMA's and the linetransformers..

I'm putting in two of Neriks preamps and two hotrodded 1272 in that case..
It will be a tight fit but i like it tight..

True, but A) 99% of the answers are found in the META's, or by searching
and B) that's not an un-asked question

Your original question (and the title of this thread) is:
has anybody here
cloned a complete 1073?

Look what I found by typing 1073 clone in a search: http://www.groupdiy.com/index.php?topic=4754&highlight=1073+clone

Here's the first line, first page:

I've just uploaded PDF's and photos for a complete 1073 clone that I made

You're welcome! :thumb:

but:

"It uses the original layouts but has all 5 boards consolidated onto a single PCB. "

I should have been up-front and clear about this.
he designed his own pcb, I really was refering to using the 5 original boards.

further more how could i of not seen that thread when it came up in the searches im surely to have already ran on the 1073?

(and that is one example, out of how many?)

anyways, i will still thank you for trying to help!

Thanks.
