Gentlemen,
I'd like to replace a 200 uA FSD vu meter with leds in a 525 circuit.
As the rectification is taken care of on board, could I get away with this simple circuit?

The full circuit...

Many thanks

I don't see why not Peter. With pin 8 of the lm3915 grounded, the reference is 1.2V full scale. As long as the 525 circuit can be adjusted for this voltage at full scale, you should be good to go.

Peace - Out, Irv

Cheers Irv,
I really should engage brain before opening mouth and learn to read a datasheet.
Peter you could use Roger's board:

There are schamtic links on the page and it can be stuffed with an LM3915. Can be a VU with external rectification or GR. Pretty general purpose.
Thanks MT, but I'm really pushed for space and need a super simple solution.
