Hi @ all,

I´m not the best metal worker but I find it ok. The VU meter isn´t really a VU meter so I lost this function but wanted it as a gain reduction meter only. The unit works well and it sounds amazing. I like it very much on vocals or lead instruments. Another weapon besides my SSLs... 8)

PS.: It only worked well with christians (?) cut idea in the pcb!!!

Well done Jürgen,

It's good to have verified that the cut is performing well!

Svart,

It is the PCB ground trace cut discussed in the 1176-thread..

Hey Jurgen,

Not being the deftest metalworker myself, I've discovered that if you run a large point black Sharpie around the inside edges of the meter hole it makes the roughness of the hole harder to see. Give it a try. Nice job!.

Hi Jaydee!

Great work mate! I bet she sounds lovely.....

Can I ask what knobs you used for the input and output controls? They look a lot like the KiloDDS ones I want to use for an upcoming project.....just wondering where you got them in europe or US?

Cheers Tom

thanks guys.

@svart. I haven´t tried my sweety on the mixdown, but I have a stereo one here from steven (with neve output) and I can say that I don´t really like it on the mixdown but on single signals and groups. I prefer my manley for the mixdown...

@jakob. thanks for making it possible. may you mention the CB ground trace cut on your website? I put it on my website as well. http://www.mutekki.com/forum/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=174#174 great stuff at all.

@seth : I haven´t really understand what you said. It´s my english. Can you explain it in a different way for me?

@tom. I have a friend in singapore. He supports me with knobs. They´re very good quality , metal and cheap as well (like 2US$ each)

@kubi, I´m sorry to disappoint you what its clear and bright WHITE and I love that. It looks a bit like blue but isn´t...

It could be my English as well! :green:

I meant that when you file the edges of a hole in black anodized aluminum or black painted steel it leaves a silver-colored edge. I thought that's what I saw in the pictures you put up, if I wasn't mistaken. The silver edge tends to call attention to itself, and if the edge is not smooth the silver color against the black panel makes it more noticeable. If, before you put the meter in, you color the inside edges and corners of the hole black with a permanent felt tip pen like a Sharpie, or use some black paint, the roughness of the edge becomes less noticeable. I have often found this to be a useful trick (yesterday!)

Does that make sense? Of course, if it looks better, it sounds better!

Best regards,

Very nice, you're a quick builder.
You mentioned a stereo version. How is that done?
Is it two units in one box with a dual set of detendent controls? Or can it be done with one set of controls?
