So polycarbonate is all but dead as a dialectric, so are teflon and polystyrene. Dead= hard as hen's teeth to find.

It seems that PPS is slowly gaining momentum in replacing all these. Anyone have opinions on this dialectric for audio use?

There are a number of companies in China making Polystyrene, such as Suntan (PSA type) and Camel in Taiwan.

The only PPS I have tried are made by EVOX, type SMR.
Good for guitar amps, but a bit too harsh for most other audio applications.
Still there were good and bad sounding Polycarbonates.

This is bad news, because I just ordered a bunch of EVOX SMR caps for an EQ project that I'm working on. I'll report back with my experiences...

hmm most of the testing data I have seen puts them up with polycarbonate, polypro, teflon and styrene in audio performance.
