converting "double wide" AES to a single wire

I recently got some old apogee converters that have this "double wide" thing that splits bits over 2 AES ports when working in 88.2k or 96k. I think standards have changed since then, and my DAW only has a single AES input - does anybody know if there is a simple way to get what I am after here? The apogee unit is a PSX-1000 and while it still kicks ass in 48/24 I would love to get back to 88.2
