Hi.

I have few Lundahls LL1517 and LL1539, and would like to use them for balanced outputs on my mixer and some other units.

What will be their impedance, that will load the IC feeding them? I never used audio transformers in DIY before, so I'm a bit uncertain. :?

Datasheets.
http://www.lundahl.se/pdfs/datash/1517.pdf
http://www.lundahl.se/pdfs/datash/1539.pdf

Static resistance for LL1517 is 9.2ohm, and for LL1539 is 20ohm.
No-load impedance is 1k for LL1517 and 2k for LL1539.
Is this the load on IC driver before it?

In reality, what load will they make on IC stage driving them? I plan to use NE5532 to drive them. Maybe in mixed feedback circuit as in LL1539 datasheet. Is such circuit good, or is it maybe to clean, and it is better to drive them in another way?

When to use LL1517, and when LL1539. Are they basically the same, or do the differ is some important aspect?

Has anybody ever used them, and can maybe send me schematics of some output circuit, where they can be used. I heard Calrec used them in consoles, at outputs. Maybe somebody has schematics of those Calrec output stages? Or maybe some other output stages which would be appropriate for this LL's?

Thnx.

Hi gnd,

take a look at AN002 on this page (lots of other good stuff too)

http://www.jensen-transformers.com/apps_wp.html

It won't answer your specif question but it will help you understand the general concepts

cheers,
