This is a follow up of sorts to this thread:

After replacing the bad transistor, but before hooking back up to the tape machine, the A/L seemed to work fine. But once I reconnected the A/L to tape machine, the A/L display flickered and poof... didn't work again. Can anyone help me out here. I can replace the transistor again (I'm assuming the same thing failed), but what can be causing this?
