I have a -10 CD player and would like something to convert the signal to a balanced +4 signal.

Does anybody have a schematic or know of an affordable product?

Thanks,

Douglas

Would a passive transformer based device help with the level?

Here's a solution I designed. It uses the DRV134 and the OPA134.
They work great for CD players, vintage single ended effects like
the old DBX units, single ended consoles, ect. The pot gives you
6 to 16 dB gain adjustment. There is also polarity flip provisions.
I have tested these driving 400 feet of cable and they work great.
I also have the balanced to un-balanced receiver for +4 to -10 inputs.
I build these 25 at a time for stock. PM me if your need some.
