What type of batteries for this old AVO tester??

Hi.

Maybe one of you English chaps can help me.
I got an old AVO transistor tester that runs on some weird kind of batteries.
I think that they are square and roughly 6x6 cm.
They have the same connection as a 9 volt but only larger.

Does anyone know what I am talking about, and if so, are they availible somewhere???

Is it a PP9?

You could replace the terminals or make an adapter lead.

Hi Rod!

It´s not a PP9, it´s to big i found out, but you lead ne into the right track, it must be a PP7!!
The smaller variant of the PP9.
The dimensions match better.

Now i just need to find one of those here in Sweden.
Or I could as you say, go with a adaptor if i change the terminals.
