Nothing really special about that EQ... certainly not a sonic highpoint.
The big thing was that it was built to interface with the SSL computer. Each controllable aspect (frequency sweep, bandwidth etc.) was controllable from a DC voltage in the 0-5V range. The pan was another DC controllable function. -Since the SSL fader automation was essentially just an updateable and editable 0-5V control voltage recorder/processor/playback system, it meant that -as far as the computer was concerned- the EQ appeared as more faders, and you could record and playback moves on the same automation system, that were filed, recalled and reproduced without complication. -Same for the pans.
All the work went into making every finction controllable. The sonic performance of the unit is not remarkably good. -As far as using it for 2-track mastering, I'd say you'd have to be either quite mad, or rather ignorant. :green:
