hi,
I'd like (since I am getting a consistent order from Sowter) to try one of their output tranformers at the output of the EF86.
Do you guys have any suggestion regarding which one is the best suited for the job.
I am rather a newbie on tubes therefore I definitely needd your help to understand what I should be looking for.

Best,
Mattia.

Ask Brian Sowter. Most 1:5 and 1:7 mic input transformers should probably work, but he may have a suggestion if you show him the circuit.

I liked the Sowter mic transformer with three different impedances - you can experiment with the winding that gives you the sound you're after. I think that's the 3678. I've also used the 4935 and the 9610. The 9610 works well with a 6072 tube arrangement, 4935 is what I like with a 6AU6 or 6AH6 circuit. In all cases, you're using the transformer 'backwards' but it works well.
