Good morning!

I put one of these together at the weekend, from bits I had lying around...

It's supposed do be a DI box for interfacing guitar to our protoolz/yamaha DAW, sitting between the guitar and pedals or amp. The buffer design is straight out of Jack Orman's excellent AMZ/muzique pages (thanks, Jack :thumb:).

The xfo is there to give a balanced output, and the XLR ground is 'lifted' to reduce hum/eathing problems when connecting'studio' to 'live' gear.

First impressions are that this thing sounds good and is honest rather than having much of a sound of its own. It hasn't had a proper studio trial yet but will get one this week.

Any thoughts or comments or improvements appreciated.

Thanks Buttachunk,

The two 3.3Megs set the gate bias to half the supply voltage.

What advantage would a drain resistor give me?

Thanks!

I should add that this is powered by 2 x 18V batteries for portability & convenience. The input jack also switches the power on and off, and I've added an LED indicator to remind the player to unplug when he/she has done.
