I usually drill and frill until it fits, but that's way to amateuristic innit :?

How do you do this?
Any special tools available?

Cheers, :guinness:

PS i mean the chassisparts into an alu box or something like this.

How about a stepped drill bit or a chassis punch? Google varibit or unibit for the drill bit, Greenlee for punches.

Peace,
Al.

The qmax type punch is great! Try to by the 'universal' type neutrik sockets - then you only need one size of punch.

Almost forgot to mention that the nice people at sescom (same company that makes enclosures) has a range of chassis punches which are a bit cheaper than Greenlees and QMax's.

Their enclosures kinda suck, though (I put my PAIA Fatman in one...)

Peace,
Al.

I was actually doing this yesterday....
The way I did it was using HSS hole cutters attached to a pilot drill bit
They cost me about £20-30 for a set of 7 different sizes

Each hole took about 2 minutes to cut
I did 8 holes yesterday - finished in no time - towards the end I was flipping the aluminium half way through
drill half way through - flip over
Guide the pilot drill back into the original hole
And start drilling again
The bench press seemed to like that better.....

now can anyone tell me a way to start the bottom nut on a Neutric input XLR in a 1U rack without pulling my hair out

Use a rack that you can take the bottom off! :green: :guinness:

Can anyone help with locating a reasonably priced puncher that works with the SESCOM punches in the USofA?

Thank You,
Tamas
