While ordering some custom wounded power transformers I came across some parameters which are probably important although I'd like to find out some more details about them, especially their influence on the low-signal audio circuitry. Here we go:
1. Impregnation (I don't know if you have another specialised term for that). The company says it can impregnate the core and then the windings. They say it is lowers the noises.
2. Induction. I was advised that less is better, although at a price of increased turns/weight/dimensions. What is the typical induction suggested for lets say mic pre power trafo? (oh yeah, they measure it in Tl - teslas I think)
3. The screen between the primary and secondary windings. Is it very important or can it be skipped?
4. The order of windings. I don't know if they can do something special like winding half of the primary then the secondary and then another half of the primary. I don't think it's necessary for power transformers, just wanted to be sure...
Hope some transformers guru here can help me to understand all these things better.

Not perfectly sure about that one but I think it mainly has to do with mechanical fixation of the windings which reduces rattling. But I might be wrong...

I always order custom power transformers with Faraday shield. It greatly enhances the CMRR of the power transformer and hence reduces common-mode line noise.

Thanks, Samuel.
I assume that the Faraday shield is the same I described - the screen between primary and secondaries? Or is it something special?
