i am using a digi 001 (unbalanced -10dbu outs) and am building an 8X2 Pm1000 to use with it for summing/eq.

My question is regarding what I should do as far as inputs on the pm1000? would it be best to make switchable inputs (mic and unbalanced line in) or should i just build some type of balancing box for the outputs of the 001?

is there any way I can just run the unbalanced out of the 001 into the mic input of the PM1K or will this cause problems?

I don´t know what level input admits the pm1000. But if they are mic inputs I think that will have a Z input for mics. I think that Z input for line in may be diferent. So you would need something like DI box. Line level, to Mic level.
To take a balanced out to a balanced in:
On the unbalanced: tip is hot, sleev is cold.

On the balanced XLR:
pin: 1 is shield
pin2: hot
pin3 cold

You must bridge pin 1 and pin 3.
