I will power my DIY preamp with batteries, (if all works fine).
There is a pcb mount switch, to lift pin 1 from chassis.
It´s supposed if find ground problems, humms or something like that.
My doubt is, are those noises or ground problems only when using AC psu?, because ground loops from common grounds?
Or could I have ground problems also, if the preamp it´s battery powered?
Or could be just internal ground problems or the own preamp?
Can anyone clear this?

Thanks!

A preamp should never have it's input ground lifted when used with a mic, though in some cases lifting the output shield can reduce ground noise.

If the preamp is battery powered though, there should be no ground noise and no reason to lift shields at all.
