Your oppinions on Allison Gain-brain

Quite a long time since my last post, been very busy recording in the studio and not DIYing a lot lately but have a lot of boards begging to be racked...and my ssl clone is finished without labeled front panel so no pics for now...

I have 4 of these limiters laying around, 1 is not working, the other 3 are powering up but aren´t hooked up so i don´t know if they´re working correctly. Any oppinions on the sound of these? are they worth repairing and racking?

cool on drums. tend to distort on anything steady state like electric guitar. Nothing like them, so worth fixing.

In case of FET failure 2n5457´s will work? i have a bunch of these from my hamptone project.

I recall FET's have to be matched...that's all I recall. It's been awhile.

According to the manual, you need fets within a Vgs range, but these required values are different in the two fets...

Fixed the 4 units...next week i´ll pass some audio in a mix i´m going to do, and see how they sound.

Fired them up, i love them on snare, smacky!.

they are a little noisy, is there something i can do to reduce the noise on them?
