Hi - folks on this board helped me recap my old Yamaha M916 mixer a year or so ago. Now I need to replace the input level selector switches which as far as I can tell, are difficult to find. So I took a long shot and emailed Yamaha - they replied yesterday that I can still buy these parts, from Yamaha Canada where I live, and they're a relatively reasonable $13 each.
How about that!
What a pleasant surprise in our era of planned obsolescence. Made my day.
I believe these switches are also used in the other Yamaha boards (M1524, M1532) of the same era.
To contact Yamaha, I went to:
http://www.global.yamaha.com/support/index.html
then clicked on "Product Maintenance"
https://www.yamaha.co.jp/info/global/maintenance.php
and then "Analog Mixers"
https://www.yamaha.co.jp/info/global/maintenance_2.php?category=Analog+Mixers
I filled out the form and received an email reply in around 4 business days.
